E o Tejo aqui tão perto!
A photographic journey along the banks and memories of the Tagus. Free entry.
Through Jorge Figueira’s lens, the Tagus appears not only as a setting, but as a living presence, where life unfolds in silence and depth. The photographs reveal the intimate connection between the river and those who live alongside it: serene banks, anonymous faces, simple gestures that, together, make up the soul of a territory.
Jorge Figueira has been a self-taught photographer since 1978. Over the decades, he has explored new paths and captured lives with an attentive camera and a sensitive eye. This exhibition brings together recent images taken along the Tagus, where aesthetics meet documentary records, and emotion intertwines with memory.
Inspiration
Poems by Alberto Caeiro, Sophia de Mello Breyner, Fernando Pessoa and others accompany Jorge Figueira’s images, revealing the unique relationship between the river and its poets.
